When Peace Becomes Power
I used to think peace meant everything in my life had to be calm.
No conflict.
No chaos.
No discomfort.
No feelings I didn’t want to feel.
But peace didn’t show up when life got easier.
Peace showed up when I finally stopped fighting myself.
I didn’t find peace in a quiet room or a perfect day.
I found it in the moments I stopped reacting to everything that tried to pull me back into who I used to be.
The pause became the place where I got to decide who I wanted to be
before my emotions made the decision for me.
I used to think power was control.
Winning.
Proving something.
Being the one who didn’t break.
But real power was quieter than all of that.
Peace became power the day I realized I could feel something and not lose myself to it.
Reflection:
Where do you still mistake control for peace?
